| This is a felt tip pen that may be used to
draw right on the glass. After firing you’re drawing will appear in
gold.
The first time you use a pen you need to prime the nib by removing the
cap and gently tap the nib (pen point) on a hard surface such as a tile.
Normally it will take approx. A minute before the nib is loaded with gold.
You need to be careful not to overload the nib or when you go to decorate
with the pen, too much gold will flow onto the piece. When decorating and
the gold seems to be getting too thin, simply prime the nib again once or
twice (no more) and start drawing again. Fired between 1328 & 1157
degrees F.
TIP: The
‘ink’ is black before firing so very difficult to see on dark glass;
hold your piece up to the light and tilt it to see your drawing. You may
draw on a finished or unfinished piece and then fire or re-fire.
