| Making Dichroic Glass Jewelry - 1 Day |
No glass working experience needed. Students will gain a
complete understanding of the fundamental processes used in glass fusing and
will be introduced to the materials used in the creation of dichroic glass
jewelry. Students will go home with many completed pieces of dichroic glass
jewelry and with a booklet that contains instructions for making the pieces
at home, resources for obtaining materials and tools and a materials list.
Students will leave with enough information and knowledge to set up their
own home studio. I also mentor each student after the class if desired. |
| Advanced Dichroic Glass Jewelry - 1 Day |
Students should have taken the class above or have worked
with Dichroic glass previously. This class will introduce students to
advanced techniques such as using decals, metal inclusions, and gold paint
in their pieces. Students will learn to use frit and stringer in their work
as well as how to make hot glass inclusions with a torch to add complexity
and interest to their work. The use of molds to change the shape of jewelry
pieces will also be introduced. |
| Fusing home accessories - 2 Days |
No experience necessary. Students will be introduced to the
process of fusing glass and the materials and tools used in fusing. Projects
will include - making coasters, sushi dishes, picture frames and vases.
students will use metal inclusions, hot parts, frit and stringer as design
elements in their pieces. |
| Introduction to PMC+ - 1 Day |
No experience necessary. Learn to make your own jewelry with
Precious Metal Clay. PMC+ is a remarkable clay that is fired in a kiln to
create pure silver jewelry. Make your own jewelry and set dichroic glass
'stones' in silver. Every student will go home with several pieces of
beautiful, pure silver jewelry. Students will lean how to use the various
types of clay products and tools in the creation of their jewelry. Dichroic
glass stones and synthetic gemstones will be set in silver. The use of
patina to change the color of the silver and add interest will be explored. |
| PMC3 & Dichroic Glass - 3 Days |
No experience necessary. This three day class will include
one day of PMC, one day of dichroic glass jewelry making and one day in
which we will combine the two using PMC3. |
