Shipping Information

We ship out every day via UPS or USPS Priority Mail.  When using the shopping cart you will only be given UPS as an option. Why? Because some items cannot be shipped via USPS and the cart is not sophisticated enough to distinguish which is which.

NOTE: Even though the shopping cart only allows you to select UPS; we will sometimes change this to USPS if the items are small. We will lower your shipping charges to reflect the lower cost. We consider each and every order and decide what the best shipping method will be to a) guarantee safe delivery and b) to cost you the least.

Shipping COST: It's expensive to ship. We don't make money on shipping. Consider this: we have to pay UPS whatever they ask, including insurance*. We have to purchase boxes, labels, tape, bubble wrap, peanuts etc... We have labor costs associated with pulling your items from stock, wrapping them so they get to you safely, and packing and labeling the boxes. Processing the orders for shipping takes time. We pack each order as if we were going to be the recipient; with care and thought. All in all we are lucky if we break even on shipping. We understand that shipping costs are high and no one likes to pay it but we pay it ourselves when we order supplies. It's just a fact of life. You pay for gas if you go to the store, or shipping if you don't.

If you are concerned with the cost of shipping and think the cart has charged you too much let us know and we'll do whatever we can to keep the cost down; we always do anyway but it's nice to know you can speak to someone about it.

Timing: We ship everyday but this does not mean your package will go out the day your order comes in. Ideally it will, but it depends on how many orders we have in the queue, what you ordered, if it's in stock and what time of day your order came in. If you are in a rush let us know and we'll do our best to meet your deadlines.

BOX CHARGES: We are now charging a $5.00 box charge on sheet glass. Other suppliers have done it for years but we have tried not to. It's come to the point where the time and cost of wrapping and packaging sheet glass is just too costly for us. When you purchase glass from us you will see how well we package it so that it arrives in your hands in one piece; this takes time and effort. You will not see this charge in the shopping cart because it cannot distinguish when you order sheet glass and when you don't. We will add it when we process your order for shipping.
